Sign Installation Manager
Project Management & Execution
Execute all projects with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract scope, engineering plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Manage projects from planning through completion, including permits, scheduling, installation planning, and close-out documentation.
Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with profitability targets.
Monitor project performance and manage variances related to time, cost, and resources.
Identify and mitigate project risks, operational challenges, and scheduling conflicts.
Provide accurate forecasting of revenue, costs, margins, and project completion milestones.
Document project status through progress reports and final close-out reports.
Operations & Branch Support
Coordinate outside labor, subcontractors, and internal resources required for project execution.
Manage installation crews and ensure labor hours are accurately recorded and reported.
Oversee branch operations related to sign installation, including equipment utilization and maintenance needs.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company operational procedures.
Work closely with branch leadership to ensure projects align with overall operational goals.
Sign Shop & Production Oversight
Oversee shop production operations, ensuring orders are processed and produced efficiently.
Review sign orders and coordinate production schedules to support installation timelines.
Utilize sign production software systems to input orders and monitor production progress.
Provide guidance and direction to sign makers and shop personnel.
Ensure proper inventory control of sign materials, including reflective sheeting, aluminum, plywood, and hardware.
Maintain shop safety standards, organization, and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture and ethical business practices.
Schedule and manage installation crews and shop personnel to maximize productivity.
Conduct daily safety meetings and operational briefings with direct reports.
Mentor and develop employees to improve technical and operational skills.
Equip employees with the resources, tools, and training necessary to perform their work safely and effectively.
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and government agencies on signage projects.
Address customer concerns, project changes, scheduling updates, and scope adjustments.
Collaborate with project managers, branch leadership, and external stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure successful project delivery.
Maintain professional communication with vendors, customers, and internal leadership teams.
Education, Experience & Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Technical training or certifications related to traffic control, construction, or sign installation preferred.
Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience in traffic control, sign installation, roadway construction, or related field
Experience managing field crews and operational projects
Experience working with DOT standards, roadway safety regulations, or construction operations.
Understanding of job costing, project budgeting, and variance analysis
Ability to schedule labor, equipment, and materials efficiently
Knowledge of sign production processes and installation methods
Experience with inventory management and shop operations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to learn ERP/project management systems
Strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills
Planning projects and allocating resources effectively
Familiarity with union environments or labor relations, where applicable
