About the role

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This position requires professional communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers, functioning as a team member within the department and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required; follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight; ensure all required route paperwork is available upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedules; perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas; ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers; complete necessary paperwork upon return to base facility.
  • Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and maintain clean trailers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • 6–12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Ability to work a 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (generally 60–90 pounds).

Pay

$60,000–$70,000 annually, plus a performance incentive of $450 per quarter with a $200 kicker. If all four quarters are earned, the total incentive is $2,000. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available (terms apply).

Schedule

Sunday–Friday, with 1–3 trips dispatching between 2:30 PM and 12 AM, depending on load. Includes 2 weeks of training in Temple, TX.
