Shuttle Driver - Doubles

Pay

$60,000 – $70,000 annually. Performance incentive – $450 per quarter with a $200 kicker (up to $2,000 if all four quarters are earned). $5,000 sign‑on bonus, terms apply.

Schedule

Sunday – Friday, 1‑3 trips dispatching between 6:30 pm – 5 am depending on load. Two weeks of training in Temple, TX. Required 3rd‑shift schedule, Sunday – Thursday nights (schedules may vary).

Position Purpose

As a Shuttle Driver, you will transport empty trailers to operating‑company warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will operate tandem trailers, tractor‑trailers, and straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform required safety checks (pre/post‑trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues, repairs, and hazards promptly.
• Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensure all required route paperwork is with the load and available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
• Execute hook/unhook procedures following safety guidelines.
• Park and store tractor‑trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight at all times.
• Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork at base facility.
• Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
• Complete daily hours‑of‑service records in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 6‑12 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL‑A with Doubles endorsement.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and certification requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
• Pass pre‑employment drug test and road test.
• Valid current DOT health card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to hand‑lift and operate two‑wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move/stack product cases (approximately 60‑90 lb each).
