Shredder Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

The Shredder Operator reports to the Shredder Operations Supervisor. The position is flexible and aims to achieve excellence in all aspects of shredding operations.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently operate the shredder at optimal production rates with minimal downtime.
• Communicate repair and maintenance issues to the Shredder Operations Supervisor.
• Avoid potential hazards or obstructions, ensuring material suitability for shredding and meeting size requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform mechanical maintenance tasks as necessary.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed.
• Install, align, and maintain specified shredder components.
• Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions for maintenance or repair.
• Support internal controls and suggest improvements to policies and procedures.
• Communicate problems in operations, noncompliance, or policy violations to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Knowledge of machines, tools, and their maintenance.
• Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
• Experience with shredding operations and related equipment.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Related training or experience preferred.
