About the role
The Shredder Operator reports to the Shredder Operations Supervisor. The position is flexible and aims to achieve excellence in all aspects of shredding operations.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate the shredder at optimal production rates with minimal downtime.
- Communicate repair and maintenance issues to the Shredder Operations Supervisor.
- Avoid potential hazards or obstructions, ensuring material suitability for shredding and meeting size requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform mechanical maintenance tasks as necessary.
- Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed.
- Install, align, and maintain specified shredder components.
- Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions for maintenance or repair.
- Support internal controls and suggest improvements to policies and procedures.
- Communicate problems in operations, noncompliance, or policy violations to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Knowledge of machines, tools, and their maintenance.
- Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
- Experience with shredding operations and related equipment.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate attention to detail.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related training or experience preferred.
