About the role
Join Dal-Tile, the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States and a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. As a Showroom Sales Specialist, you will provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to enhance customer experience and influence sales decisions. This part-time position requires weekend work and uses the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications, sales, and brand awareness.
Expected base pay rates for this role range between $29,930 and $47,450 at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is part of a broader compensation package that may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other company-sponsored benefit programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide interior design advice and product expertise to facilitate tile and stone selection and project development, ensuring completion of sales for all customers.
- Utilize Auto-CAD Project Management where applicable.
- Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed customer preferences in CMT (Customer Management Tool).
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members to track leads, ensure follow-up, and close sales.
- Report sales closures monthly.
- Prospect for new business, focusing on custom builders and residential designers; make outside sales calls and follow up on leads to drive business growth.
- Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and managing displays; ship customer examples as needed.
- Stay current with design and product offerings by maintaining contact with suppliers and locally sourced vendors.
- Comply with Marketing’s standards for showroom merchandising, including new product launches and drops.
- Plan and host showroom tours and events for industry trade to drive customer sales.
- Attend outside trade events to develop industry relationships and build brand awareness.
- Work evening and weekend hours as required.
Requirements
- A four-year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.
- Competencies in sales, customer engagement, customer service, design, sketching, reading blueprints, Auto-CAD (a plus), color coordination, interior design trends, customer buying habits, and creative thinking.
- Ability to approach unfamiliar situations and conceptualize innovative solutions, using creative skills to document and sell them to clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with customer management tools is a plus.
- Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, management, and other internal and external partners.
