Primary Duties
- Greet visitors, answer questions and direct incoming calls effectively and efficiently.
- Host showroom tours and meetings, including shopping, food and beverage preparation, presentation, and clean up for client visits and internal events.
- Exhibit passion for the furniture and design industry with a desire to grow within the field.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency to ‘make it happen’ for visiting and prospective clients.
- Cover daily maintenance of the showroom to ensure proper furniture placement, signage, cleanliness, technology performance and report any showroom issues to Supervisor.
- Maintain intimate knowledge of all product whereabouts from the showroom and follow proper protocol for checking out showroom inventory.
- Maintain calendar of showroom events to ensure timely preparation.
- Provide assistance with the set up and usage of technology within the showroom.
- Maintain inventory levels of all office and hosting supplies and client gifts as approved by management.
- Event planning and/or leadership, including event logistics, hiring vendors/entertainment, managing attendance, set-up/clean-up (evening hours will be periodically required to perform these duties).
- Understudy the Job Captain (Sales Assistant) position to alleviate workloads as needed. Train to promote when openings become available.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A college degree in Interior Design, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, Business or other relevant field is preferred.
- 2-3 years of customer service experience (hospitality experience highly desirable).
- Event planning and coordination a plus.
- Highly proficient computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong planning, organizational, research, follow-up, and time management skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as contribute as part of a team.
