Essential Position Responsibilities
- Make an accurate cut on every front half around the shoulder and along the scapula.
- Properly pull the breast downward to separate meat from the frame.
- Maintain low scrape scores while monitoring and continuously improving the cut.
- Pay close attention to bones and remove as necessary.
- Sharpen knife blade as necessary, every 3 or 4 birds.
- Change out blades at each break.
- Prepare presentations for wing cutters.
- Participate as a member of the team.
- Participate in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
- Attend appropriate team meetings.
- Foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues within the team, including direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
- Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness, bring them to the attention of the team leader, and work with the team to resolve issues.
- Accept responsibility for quickly identifying areas that lack cohesiveness and reinforcing actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
- Be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems, understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems, and consider the impact of individual actions on the systems.
- Communicate concerns and improvement ideas related to the systems.
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
