About the role

A Shotpeen Machine Operator is responsible for a diverse range of tasks and equipment in the Coil Springs business unit, including working with robots, ovens, shotpeen machines, secondary peening, and both hotset and coldset equipment. The position involves troubleshooting and resolving a variety of issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate fork trucks and tools such as gauges and Allen wrenches
• Perform changeovers and work off-shift
• Stand for extended periods and make mechanically inclined decisions
• Complete paperwork and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Load material, perform changeovers, and make adjustments during production and tooling changes on hot setting, cold setting, stress peener, and laser marking units
• Conduct rough fault analysis
• Understand and work with HPP equipment, tools, and procedures

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand job documentation
• Physical coordination to lift and move product
• Trainable with fork lift truck
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong written and oral communication skills, including attention to detail
• Math ability, including conversions between English and Metric units
• Ability to read, use, and understand measuring devices to .1mm
• Understanding of machine computer functions
• Trainable with CNC, PLC controls, and SPC documentation
• Knowledge of HPP equipment, tools, procedures, and their designs, uses, and benefits
