Short Shift Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels of Sacramento is hiring a Short Shift Caregiver to support clients throughout the local area, including Davis, Sacramento, McClellan, North Highlands, El Macero, Carmichael, and many others.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take prescription medications at the right times
• Assisting with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for clients)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients based on their ability
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, visiting the doctor, and taking walks
• Acting quickly in the case of medical emergencies and reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times
• Physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support a client
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to dietary constraints
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (e.g., background check)
• Ability to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting
• Negative TB screening within the last 90 days
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry
