Short-Range Mine Engineer
Coeur Mining is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with seven wholly-owned operations: the New Afton gold-copper mine in British Columbia, Canada, the Rainy River gold-silver mine in Ontario, Canada, the Las Chiapas silver-gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, the Palmarejo gold-silver mine in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. About the role
We are seeking a Short Range Mine Planning Engineer for our Rochester operation near Lovelock, NV. This position will report to the SR Planning Engineer. The successful candidate will develop and implement the short-range mine plan at the mine site. Company-supported relocation to Northern Nevada is required. The role is on-site at Coeur Rochester near Lovelock, NV.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment by ensuring Coeur’s values and standards are present in all aspects of work execution.
- Develop and implement daily, 7-day, and 90-day mine plans that maximize production and meet budget/forecast KPIs.
- Maintain a weekly rolling 90-day mine plan that optimizes upon and aligns with the mine’s medium-range plan.
- Continually seek to optimize the operation and reduce production bottlenecks over the daily to 90-day planning horizon.
- Integrate with and maintain close relationships with teams across the mine site to ensure plans are informed and executable.
- Ensure operational management is adequately briefed on technical matters and plans to make appropriate decisions in a timely manner.
- Champion continuous improvement and challenge the status quo.
- Report daily, monthly, and yearly mine production physicals and site KPIs against established site metrics.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mine Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Experience in mine planning at an open-pit mining operation required.
- Mine operations/supervision experience preferred.
- High level of proficiency in mine planning software (Deswick preferred).
