Short Haul Driver - 2nd Shift

About the role

Dexter is seeking a Short Haul Driver - 2nd Shift to support operations at their manufacturing facility in Albion, IN. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in driving and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assisting and preparing orders for loads
• Loading and/or unloading trucks
• Auditing loads to ensure product matches the order; verify for accuracy
• Checking loads to confirm that they are secured to trailer
• Aiding in planning routes to optimize time and equipment usage
• Delivering product to various locations
• Picking up raw materials for production
• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Notifying supervisor of defects or necessary repairs
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment in top condition
• Performing duties in compliance with safety and security standards
• Lifting to 50 pounds, standing, reaching, balancing, stretching, bending, squatting
• Working primarily outdoors and occasionally indoors, with varying temperatures
• Maintaining proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
• May be required to work overtime, including weekends

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred, but not required
• Must maintain a Class A CDL
• Three (3) years of experience driving preferred but not required
• Possess a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven time management skills and ability to work overtime as needed
• Observes safety procedures and maintains a good work ethic

Qualifications

• Ability to lift to 50 pounds
• Standing, reaching, balancing, stretching lower extremities constantly
• Frequent grasping, pinching, and fine manipulation
• Occasionally bending and squatting
• May be required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Mandatory PPE for eyes, ears, hands, and feet to prevent exposure to hazardous materials or injury

Pay

$18.00 per hour

2nd Shift - Hours may vary based on production needs

Signaling Bonus

A signing bonus of $5,000 will be paid to qualified hires in two installments.
