Shop Trailer Mechanic II Non-DOT

About the role

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to join our dedicated on-site shop team. This position requires a strong background in trailer mechanics and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance inspections
• Assist in cleanup at the end of each day
• Manage concurrent assigned tasks
• Document work performed according to company standards
• Communicate with Shop Manager and support team
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems
• Participate in safety training and conduct safety checks

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification preferred
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
• Knowledge of trailer parts and systems

• Knowledge of trailer parts and systems

• Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
• Ability to accurately judge distances
• Effective two-way communication skills
• Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed
