Shop Trailer Mechanic II $5000 New Hire Bonus

About the role

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance inspections
• Assist in cleanup at the end of each day
• Manage concurrent assigned tasks
• Document work performed according to company standards
• Communicate with Shop Manager and support team
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems
• Identify and document problems
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation
• Participate in safety training
• Conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field
• Valid driver's license
• Current DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of trailer parts and systems
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods
• Ability to accurately judge distances and communicate effectively
• Logic and reasoning skills
• Use of hand tools and precision instruments
