About the role
Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to join our dedicated team. This position requires a strong background in trailer mechanics and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance inspections
- Assist in cleanup at the end of each day
- Manage concurrent assigned tasks
- Document work performed according to company standards
- Communicate with Shop Manager and support team
- Participate in safety training and adhere to safety policies
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment
- Diagnose and repair trailer equipment issues
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' experience in a related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Current DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of trailer parts and systems
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
