Shop Technician (CORP) - 1st Shift
About the role
This position supports shop employees, facilities or maintenance groups in various tasks including recycling, running errands, general building maintenance, service and maintenance of machines, inventory management, and chip and oil handling.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all aspects of cleanliness and oil/coolant in the machines
- Perform general service and machine maintenance, including cleaning machines, changing filters, lubricating oil, flooding coolant, filtering oil, servicing mist collectors, chip conveyors, and routine inspections
- Track quantities of new oil and reorder related products as necessary
- Organize barrels of waste oil and used filters; arrange for recycling with supervisor
- Manage oil spills using appropriate supplies
- Avoid hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including handling, storing, and shipping
- Perform general upkeep of work areas
- Assist with other duties as necessary
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in a shop environment desired
- Ability to perform general maintenance tasks
- Mechanically inclined
- Self-starter; work with little or no supervision
- Obtain NH DES Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certificate
- Attend DOT hazardous shipment training
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence, forklift certification, able to obtain DOT health card
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and request assistance when needed
- Range of motion sufficient to permit climbing stairs and ladders, walking, standing, stooping, and crouching for extended periods
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel desired
- Must have ability to pass medical evaluation for respirator use and abide by requirements for wearing respiratory protection

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
