Shop Technician

About the role

Pape’ Material Handling, a premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a skilled and driven Shop Technician to join our team in Fremont, CA. You’ll work on all makes and models of material handling and construction equipment in a fully equipped shop, ensuring repairs are done accurately and timely to support our customers and maximize their uptime.

Picture yourself working alongside skilled technicians, inspecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or failures, followed by executing necessary repairs or component replacements. This may include rebuilding or replacing complex systems such as transmissions, masts, differentials, hydraulic components, engines, electrical systems, and/or steering mechanisms. Welding and fabrication work may also be required as part of certain repairs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or failures.
• Perform repairs or replace components on material handling and construction equipment.
• Rebuild or replace complex systems such as transmissions, masts, differentials, hydraulic components, engines, electrical systems, and steering mechanisms.
• Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for repairs.
• Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and in a timely manner to support customer uptime.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, preferably in the material handling industry.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
• Must provide own tools.

Pay

$38-50/hr (depending on experience).
