Responsibilities
- Repairs or replaces virtually any component on lift trucks
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses lift trucks to determine faults, failures, or extent of malfunctions/damage
- Crawls under equipment to access mechanical components located beneath lift trucks
- Removes faulty components using hand tools, pneumatic tools, lift truck jacks, and hoists
- Disassembles units and inspects parts/components for wear
- Tears down, repairs, and rebuilds faulty components/assemblies
- Repairs and services electrical systems
- Inspects, adjusts, repairs, and rebuilds brake systems
- Reads display for fault codes
- Downloads software updates
- Replaces and adjusts lights, and installs and repairs accessories as required
- Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications
- Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as lubrication and tune-ups
- Test drives forklifts and tests components and systems
- Performs pre-delivery inspections and assembly of new forklifts as required

Pay
Starting pay: $28.00/hour (DOE). $1,500 signing bonus after 12 months of employment. Experienced material handling technicians with 3 or more years' experience are eligible for a one-time $3,000 bonus, paid out after 12 months of continuous employment.
