Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Repairs or replaces virtually any component on lift trucks
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses lift trucks to determine faults, failures, or extent of malfunctions/damage
• Crawls under equipment to access mechanical components located beneath lift trucks
• Removes faulty components using hand tools, pneumatic tools, lift truck jacks, and hoists
• Disassembles units and inspects parts/components for wear
• Tears down, repairs, and rebuilds faulty components/assemblies
• Repairs and services electrical systems
• Inspects, adjusts, repairs, and rebuilds brake systems
• Reads display for fault codes
• Downloads software updates
• Replaces and adjusts lights, and installs and repairs accessories as required
• Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications
• Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as lubrication and tune-ups
• Test drives forklifts and tests components and systems
• Performs pre-delivery inspections and assembly of new forklifts as required

Pay

Starting pay: $28.00/hour (DOE). $1,500 signing bonus after 12 months of employment. Experienced material handling technicians with 3 or more years' experience are eligible for a one-time $3,000 bonus, paid out after 12 months of continuous employment.
