Responsibilities

• Perform periodic maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting on various models of Hyster-Yale forklifts and equipment, as well as competitive material handling equipment, including fuel systems, drivetrains, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist with training and mentoring apprentice technicians through on-the-job training.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or tech school graduate preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to repair equipment per skill level.
• Basic computer/tablet knowledge (Microsoft and Apple operating systems).
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to understand weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must safely operate equipment.

Work Environment

• May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment.
• May occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
• May occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
• Noise level in some work environments may occasionally be loud.
