Ring Power Corporation, established in 1962, is a full-line Caterpillar dealer with headquarters in St. Augustine and operations across Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee. The company is dedicated to customer service and employs over 2,300 people across 20+ locations.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and successfully complete required technician training classes.
  • Maintain necessary tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Diagnose and perform repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Work neatly and improve methods, work areas, and safety standards.
  • Inspect components to maximize parts reuse and control repair costs.
  • Complete required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for repair times.
  • Monitor job expenses versus repair estimates and notify supervisors of cost overruns before job completion.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and support team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while meeting safety and quality expectations.
  • Train and/or mentor others in the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3-4 years of experience.
  • Completion of all required training curriculum to be designated a Tech II.
  • Ability to comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Proficient in computer use, Microsoft Office products, and relevant dealer software programs (highly desired).
  • Willingness to update knowledge through frequent re-training (job requirements change requiring re-training once or more per year).

Physical Demands

  • Frequently (3-6 hours/day): Climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, feeling, fingering, grasping, repetitive motion, talking, hearing, pushing/pulling/lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Balancing, stooping, pushing/pulling/lifting 26-50 lbs, pushing/pulling/lifting over 50 lbs.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours/day): Sitting, inside conditions (protected from weather but not temperature changes).

Environmental Conditions

  • Frequently (3-6 hours/day): Extreme heat (temperatures above 100°F), noise requiring shouting to be heard, vibration, hazards (e.g., moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to heat/chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation), exposure to oils.
  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Outside environmental conditions, extreme cold (temperatures below 32°F), air particulates/contaminants requiring respirator use.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours/day): Inside conditions (protected from weather but not temperature changes).
