Shop Porter

About the role

As a Shop Porter at Nextran Truck Centers, you are a valued member of our team, performing essential duties such as:

• Moving vehicles as needed to different locations on the dealership lot
• Cleaning the interiors and exteriors of vehicles
• Performing maintenance tasks; checking fluid levels, charging battery, washing and waxing, etc.
• Placing stickers and signs on vehicles
• Providing assistance with keeping the lot clean and tidy at all times
• Starting vehicles regularly and ensuring there are no issues with them
• Driving and handling all vehicles responsibly to prevent damage and protect dealership property

Responsibilities

Preferred candidates should have:

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in trucking and/or automotive industry
• A valid CDL
• A good driving record
• Good customer service skills
• The ability to perform well under pressure and understand fluctuating customer needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A thorough understanding of tools used in the trade
• Computer proficiency

Qualifications

High school diploma and/or GED equivalent required. A valid CDL is required. A good driving record is preferred. Must have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments. Must be able to read and understand work orders. Must have a thorough understanding of tools used in the trade and computer proficiency.
