Requirements
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- - Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on tractors and equipment
- - Thoroughly cleans tractor and equipment parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary
- - Oils and lubricates moving parts on tractors and equipment to ensure effective performance
- - Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts
- - Orders and installs replacement parts for tractors and equipment
- - Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of tractors and equipment
- - Repairs broken tractors and equipment quickly and efficiently
- - Prepare reports documenting work performed
- - Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
- - Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on tractors and equipment
- - Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with Farm Operations Manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required
- - Fill in throughout the farm positions that may need extra support during the peak seasons
- - Trouble shoot and repair irrigation pivots
- - Performs other duties as necessary or assigned
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required
- Extensive mechanical and electrical experience, preferably farm and irrigation equipment
- Diesel Engine experience

Physical/Environmental Demands
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
- Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
- Ability to withstand cold and warm working conditions
- Must be able to navigate various terrains while at farming locations and all departments of the organization's physical premises
