Shop Manager / Lead Mechanic

About the Role

This position involves supervising maintenance activities for facility equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. The role requires self-direction, organizing repairs, and managing maintenance schedules using CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce safety plans and practices.
• Assign daily tasks to mechanics, adjusting for emergencies.
• Mentor and develop team members through training and engagement.
• Read and interpret OEM and non-OEM documentation, schematics, and manuals.
• Coordinate repairs, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements.
• Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of production and facility equipment.
• Skills in troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to organize resources and prioritize tasks.

Physical & Educational Requirements

May involve physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and extended standing. A background in mechanical and electrical systems is preferred.
