Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain various grinding equipment, including hand-held grinders.
- Interpret technical drawings, and work orders to ensure parts are ground to the correct dimensions and tolerances.
- Smooth and finish surfaces, remove excess metal, deburr parts, and chip or grind away excess welds, rust, and scale.
- Inspect and measure finished parts against specifications using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Remove excess material, sharp edges, and imperfections from parts.
- Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn grinding wheels.
- Conduct quality checks and document production results.
- Follow all safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain accurate production records and other relevant documentation.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Vocational training or machining certifications are a plus.
- Strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, shop environment is highly valued.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
