Shop Laborer/Yard Laborer

Purpose

Assist in identifying, sorting, and organizing various non-ferrous metals and organizing shop and yard areas.

Reports to

Non-Ferrous Shop Foreman

Must Have

• Valid driver's license

Job Duties

• Show up to work and be dressed in proper work attire on the floor at scheduled start time.
• Get work instructions at the beginning of day and follow through with assignments.
• Work between both Centerville and Prescott yards as needed.
• Report completion of projects to Shop Foreman.
• Identify and sort metal according to its type and size as well as other recyclables that come through (i.e. cardboard, batteries, computer hardware, catalytic converters).
• Clean various forms of non-ferrous metals (i.e. copper, brass, zinc).
• Operate baler.
• Keep work area clean and organized, keep floor picked up and swept.
• Operate Skid Steer as needed and only when trained to do so.
• Operate forklift as needed and only when trained to do so.
• Operate various small tools.
• Operate a cutting torch as needed.
• Absorb and assist in loading/unloading customer vehicles IF needed.
• Work in Hot/cold temperatures.
• Willingness to work where needed.
• Team player everyday.

Qualifications

• Pass random drug screening tests throughout employment.
