Shop Laborer

About the role

The Vortex Companies, LLC delivers cutting-edge trenchless technologies and turnkey services to improve water infrastructure. As a Shop Laborer, you will stack manufactured liners on pallets according to customer requirements and inspect completed liners to ensure high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Read customer requirement sheets to fill orders accurately and with high quality.
• Assist co-workers in manufacturing equipment setups, maintenance, and repair.
• Assist co-workers in wrapping and securing completed liners for transport.
• Stack liners on pallets neatly and correctly according to customer requirements.
• Inspect liners as they come off the manufacturing table for quality control purposes.
• Report any quality problems to the Supervisor immediately.
• Review supply/parts inventory and report any shortages.
• Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Physical Demands

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to lift and move at least 50-75 lbs. on a continuous basis.
• Able to wear required PPE, such as hard hats, safety vests, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working.

Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but may include weekends, evenings, and/or holidays—flexibility is required as job duties demand.
