Utility Operator (1st & 2nd Shifts)

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing objectives by performing tasks such as thread protect, measuring, sorting, boxing, and painting.
  • Set up and operate sleeve machines to produce sleeves and insert fasteners according to specifications for thread damage control.
  • Perform dimensional inspection of threaded fasteners using micrometers, protrusion gauges, and thread inspection tools; sort according to specifications.
  • Set up and operate packaging machines to bag fasteners per customer criteria and generate labels.
  • Construct boxes and affix labels as specified by customers.
  • Set fasteners in racks, paint heads per customer specifications, and move parts to the next operation.
  • Prepare jobs (e.g., egg crate) for outside processing or internal next steps.
  • Assist with cycle counting and inventory control.
  • Read and comprehend GD&T in customer drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, thread gauges, tri-roll, dial indicators, and comparators.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and quality system practices.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, and percentages.
  • Ability to accurately record measurements and results.
  • Familiarity with visual manufacturing and stock lists/inventory reference.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated with a strong history of meeting or exceeding standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including listening, speaking, and writing.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective team member contributing to a positive, cooperative, and productive work environment.
  • Commitment to improving productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality system practices, mechanical and physical laboratory testing, dimensional inspection, and/or specification interpretation preferred.
  • Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace or fastener industry experience preferred.

Parts Wash

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned/scheduled parts washing and secondary operations in manufacturing, including cleaning, glass beads, and other services as needed.
  • Operate cleaning systems using appropriate wash methods to remove oil and coolants from product.
  • Maintain cleaning solution in tanks per work instruction and perform basic preventative maintenance.
  • Operate vibratory deburr machines according to procedure.
  • Operate glass bead machines and maintain filters.
  • Operate vapor hone equipment per work instruction to achieve desired finish on product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand verbal or written instructions for special assignments.
  • Basic shop math skills for calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Accurately enter data into computer programs.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace or fastener industry experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED; shop certification such as NTMA is highly desired.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, speak, and listen.
  • Hand-eye coordination, repetitive hand movement, and manual dexterity required.
  • Occasionally bend, reach to shoulder level, lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
