Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise personnel, including attendance, labor entry, performance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and assign responsibilities such as job assignments and shop clean-up.
  • Coordinate production priorities with inspectors, testers, and inventory personnel.
  • Provide one-on-one training and instruction to personnel as needed.
  • Ensure personnel have the materials, tools, equipment, and training required to efficiently complete assignments.
  • Evaluate quality, efficiency, and other production issues; develop and implement strategies to improve or correct them.
  • Maintain open, accurate communication with counterparts from other shifts and colleagues from departments like sales, purchasing, engineering, and training.
  • Conduct regular department meetings.
  • Conduct annual performance and compensation reviews; handle reprimands and terminations as needed.
  • Resolve employee disputes.
  • Ensure products are shipped within the customer-required window.
  • Support company activities to maintain the four elements of the quality policy, including initiating and disposing of quality problem reports.
  • Observe and adhere to InterConnect policies and procedures.
  • Prepare Certificates of Compliance.
  • Provide instruction to personnel regarding quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Adhere to customer-controlled documents and requirements.
  • Evaluate customer-requested changes, assess their impact on production, and make necessary adjustments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five plus years of experience in the aerospace industry, specifically in sheet metal manufacturing/assembly and/or assembly supervision.
  • Understanding of commercial and government requirements for sheet metal manufacturing.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Quality-conscious with knowledge of AS9100 REV. D and ISO9001 standards.
  • Effective leadership and motivational skills.
  • Ability to operate all machines, including CNC, lathe, punch press, and brake press, with effective training and communication skills (programming experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective management skills, including delegating responsibilities and managing multiple projects.
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
