Position Summary
Shop foremen oversee the daily operations in the service department. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive, productive work environment and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of technicians. Provide technical expertise, coaching and on the job training for all technicians to increase individual and team performance.
- Assign tasks to technicians ensuring optimal use of resources and an efficient workflow. Manage workflow to ensure timely completion of all projects.
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of boats. Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing complex issues. Inspect completed work and provide feedback to technicians as needed.
- Effectively communicate with customers & team on a timely basis, keeping them proactively informed of the status of their work order.
- Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a timely manner and always look for ways to better serve our customers.
- Cook up with the service manager to develop training for technicians to enhance skills and improve team performance. Helps promote a continuous learning environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and environmentally friendly work environment. Stays current on legal, safety and recall information to protect all parties.
- Supports Service Manager in the execution of successful Boat Shows, Store and Off-site sales/customer events, including boat movement and setup.
- Any other duties as assigned.

- Strong understanding and knowledge of marine mechanics and marine repair tools.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Degree in Marine Technology is a plus.
- Certifications (Mercury, Yamaha) are preferred.
- Experience in marine repair, with supervisory or leadership role is a plus.
