Shop Floor Supervisor

HydroPoint is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This position combines production leadership, team development, workflow coordination, and operational problem-solving. Unlike a traditional supervisor role, the successful candidate will be actively engaged on the production floor while leading a small team and partnering closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Operations. The ideal candidate is a practical leader who can effectively balance people leadership, production execution, inventory awareness, and continuous improvement while helping the organization scale for future growth. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Workflow ManagementLead daily manufacturing activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goalsCoordinate production priorities and labor assignmentsMonitor workflow and adjust resources to meet production schedulesIdentify and escalate material shortages, production bottlenecks, and operational issuesSupport production activities during peak demand periods Team LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop manufacturing personnelManage attendance, scheduling, timecards, and performance feedbackFoster a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environmentSupport employee training and cross-training activitiesHelp develop future leaders within the manufacturing team Inventory & Material CoordinationPartner with Planning and Supply Chain to ensure material availabilityCommunicate inventory concerns and production risksParticipate in cycle counts and inventory accuracy effortsHelp ensure proper material handling and transaction discipline Quality & Continuous ImprovementEnsure adherence to manufacturing procedures and quality standardsSupport root-cause investigations and corrective actionsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, safety, and organizationAssist with implementation of engineering changes and new products Facility & Equipment SupportCoordinate routine facility and equipment needsAssist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance activitiesMaintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment Cross-Functional CollaborationServe as the day-to-day manufacturing representative for Petaluma operationsPartner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Customer Operations teamsCommunicate operational priorities, risks, and challenges clearly and effectively Required Qualifications5+ years of manufacturing experience2+ years leading or supervising production teamsExperience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environmentsExperience managing production schedules and labor prioritiesStrong communication and problem-solving skillsComfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environmentProficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to read and understand manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and bills of material Preferred QualificationsExperience with electronics or electromechanical assemblyExperience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologiesExperience supporting inventory control, shipping, and receiving activitiesExperience in small to mid-sized manufacturing organizations What Success Looks LikeSafe, productive, and engaged manufacturing teamConsistent on-time shipment performanceClear communication of production risks and material constraintsStrong partnership with Supply Chain and EngineeringEffective coaching and development of team membersContinuous improvement in operational performance Desired Leadership TraitsWe are looking for someone who:Leads by exampleIs willing to work alongside the team when neededBrings structure without creating bureaucracyCommunicates clearly and professionallyAdapts well in a changing environmentCan balance competing prioritiesDevelops people while driving resultsTakes ownership and follows through
