Shop Crane Technician

Essential Job Functions

• Operates and inspects cranes in order to diagnose defects
• Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS & MEGA-TRACK system
• Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
• Reads, understands and interprets operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
• Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
• May be required to weld as needed
• Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
• Absolutely capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
• Performs thorough and accurate annual inspections
• Maintains conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
• Properly fills out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, hour’s overviews and expense reports
• Good customer service and communication skills

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician
• History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/ or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks; Manitex Boom Trucks and Cranes a strong plus
• Set a positive example in punctuality and professional demeanor by respectful communication with all levels of staff, keeping work areas clean & orderly plus promoting safety regulations and all other company programs
• Welding experience preferred
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches
• Manufacture approved training/certifications preferred
• Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required

Working Conditions

• This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions
