Your onsite, hands-on training begins on your first day, where you’ll learn our standards for handling and repairing quality Home Goods. Responsibilities

• Repair and touch up merchandise damaged in the warehouse, by a customer, or by a vendor using methods and materials such as Burn-in Soft Fill, Bondo, dry powders for color, aerosol lacquers, shading lacquers, buffing fine scratches from dressers, nightstands, and tabletops, and gluing and clamping components.
• Perform repairs in a fast-paced environment, primarily in the shop for detailed damages, but may also work on the prep line for quick repairs needed for customer delivery.
• Enter accurate records in MDC of all repairs, specifying if the damage was created in-house or by the vendor.
• Maintain the necessary productivity level daily.
• Maintain a clean and clear work environment, free from trip hazards.

Requirements

• Previous furniture repair or refinishing experience preferred.
• Ability to match colors and familiarity with using Mohawk or similar touch-up products.
• Furniture repair, refinishing, or upholstery experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must successfully complete a physical assessment to be considered for the position.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move furniture up to 150 pounds, perform repetitive tasks involving lifting, bending, and carrying, use hand tools and power tools for repairs, and maintain stamina and physical endurance throughout the shift.

Work Environment

• Warehouse setting: must wear proper Havertys-provided uniforms and steel-toed work boots/shoes; safety gear required when applicable.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to completion.

Pay

$17.75 - $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
