Shop and Field Technician

Responsibilities
- General support of shop and field projects for LNG and natural gas plants
- Selects equipment, components, valves, flanges, and plans layout for assembly
- Lays out, positions, aligns pipe, and helps to fabricate components
- Bolts and clamps to secure in position for welders
- Pressure testing of pipe used for installation at gas plants
- Repairs assembled pipes by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling
- Equipment operation (e.g. lulls, lifts, fork trucks, etc.)
- Drive trucks w/ or w/o trailers locally and occasionally to jobs sites
- Will be required to travel in support of construction projects in the field up to 30% including some overnight travel
- General labor support for shop and field operations
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and co-workers
- Mechanically inclined
- Knowledge of MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software
- General aptitude and knowledge of tools that support fabrication and construction efforts
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience in the construction/trades industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
