Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the Shoe department including Profit & Loss responsibilities, seasonal sets, on-hand price integrity, and maintaining a clean, recovered, and in-stock department.
- Demonstrate Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
- Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED, at least six months Fred Meyer experience, and one to two years related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old, able to pass a drug test, work in a fast-paced environment, work weekends/nights on a regular basis, and work overtime as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail, organize/prioritize tasks/projects, and familiarize with industry/technical terms and processes.
- Desired knowledge includes understanding company policies, procedures, and organizational structure, operating special equipment, machinery, and tools, and having second language proficiency.
- Perform tasks such as signing, recovery, ticketing, stockroom, fixture usage and maintenance, RMS functions, Function 8 freight receiving and stocking, and shipping/receiving procedures.
- Comply with safety guidelines and standards, shipping/receiving procedures, shrink control guidelines, and intersection transfers.
- Coordinate and organize merchandising, receive and process freight, perform inventory control functions, verify ads/promotions, process mismates, plan ads/events, and follow up on callbacks.
- Maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions, respond to verbal customer comments/complaints, identify and take appropriate action on maintenance/repair needs, and process salvage procedures.
- Perform store management duties, including managing common associate areas, and promote and follow Company initiatives.
- Sell merchandise to customers, perform cashier functions, audit and take appropriate action on scan audits, process/file mail, and maintain department books.
- Respond to verbal customer comments/complaints, and maintain the condition of the department.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate special equipment, machinery, and tools: Symbol, Enterprise Signs and Tags Printing (ESTP), and Shelf Price Audit (SPA) unit.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
- Desired knowledge of industry/technical terms and processes.
- Desired knowledge of second language.
