Responsibilities
- Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile to ensure they feel welcomed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, determining their needs, recommending products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card.
- Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards.
- Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking.
- Demonstrate product usage and retrieve products from heights greater than 6 ft.
- Attend all required Scheels product training and store meetings.
- Assist in training new associates in the store’s areas of expertise.
- Navigate a personal computer and handheld inventory computer/scanner (programs include Microsoft Office, Google Email/Docs, and AS400).
- Assist in all other duties assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1-3 months of sales experience (ideal but not required).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform duties in a manner that minimizes injury risk.
