Shipping Supervisor
About the role
Join our team of dedicated professionals at CF&I Steel, L.P., where collaboration and innovation drive success. We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead the seamless mill operations in Pueblo, Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily mill inspections focusing on safety and productivity issues
- Coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
- Conduct shift safety meetings and daily toolbox talks
- Train employees on safe work practices and conduct daily safe job observations
- Use LEAN tools from the Rocky Mountain Steel Business System to engage employees in continuous improvement
- Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
- Manage an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and perform operational maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Evaluate product conformance using quality standards and troubleshoot quality issues promptly
- Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
- Work with the shipping department and railroad to manage truck and rail transfers
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience
- Three years of industrial supervisory experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
- Experience with Oracle, database development, statistical process control, process control, and automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
- Proven ability to professionally communicate with all levels of personnel, in written and verbal forms
- Demonstrated initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
