Shipping Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments, including raw materials, finished goods, and equipment
- Verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, quality, and compliance with order specifications
- Prepare shipping documents, manifests, and labels in accordance with carrier requirements
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with our truck, freight carriers and couriers
- Lead, train, and mentor a small team of shipping/receiving associates
- Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance to meet throughput and accuracy targets
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate priorities, safety updates, and goals
- Aid in onboarding new team members and provide ongoing coaching
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards
- Report discrepancies, damaged goods, and near-misses to management promptly
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or WMS/ERP systems
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, bills of lading, and packing lists
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
Required Experience
- Experience with inventory management software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role
- Familiarity with DOT/OSHA regulations and hazmat shipping requirements
- Knowledge of Lean or 5S manufacturing principles
