Shipping Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Shipping department
• Ensure safety procedures are being adhered to
• Set goals and follow up on the progress of those goals
• Enable associates to be cross-trained within the Shipping department
• Verify all paperwork is completed correctly and turned in daily
• Train and retain employees in a positive and professional manner
• Maintain product integrity
• Ensure trucks are loaded properly, efficiently, and with urgency
• Verify the cleanliness of the cooler, dock, and all Shipping grounds are maintained in an acceptable manner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Operate a floor jack and have a basic knowledge of loading
• Read and understand necessary reports
• Ability to perform all the functions of the Clerk in their absence
• Communicate instructions to the yard driver as well as Security
• Prior supervisory experience in food distribution is helpful
• Effective coordination between Shipping and Production
• Possess the ability to effectively train associates for retention

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree
• Food Manufacturing experience

Work Environment

• Work is normally performed in a sub-zero freezer/warehouse/production environment
• Exposure to working in a warehouse setting with cold temperatures (-20°F) at times
• Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility
