About the Role
Responsible for directing activities of the shipping department and managing inventory in a full-time manufacturing plant/warehouse setting.
Responsibilities
- Follow established safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the warehouse and shipping department.
- Correspond directly with customers and sales.
- Monitor the shipping schedule and serve as a member of the planning team.
- Maintain a filing system and process customer pickups as required.
- Collaborate, consult, and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts.
- Administer the truck scheduling system and develop delivery schedules for all orders.
- Recommend changes for improvements in efficiency and performance.
- Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed.
- Compile a daily performance report and distribute it.
- Responsible for meeting the operational budget, including all shipping-related costs (freight, pallets, etc.).
- Contact and schedule outside carriers as required.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed and spot trailers as required.
- Reconcile the daily shipping log.
- Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers while adhering to quality and safety policies.
- Ensure all projects are completed timely and accurately.
- Work from written and verbal directions and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Conduct full inventory twice per year and perform cycle counting monthly.
- Maintain the aged inventory process.
- Responsible for the forklift fleet in shipping and the proper maintenance and care of the yard horse.
- Attend weekly profit projection meetings.
Requirements
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Forklift experience.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a shipping supervisor or manager (highly preferred).
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.

Pay
$75,000 - $85,000 a year
