Shipping Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

• Proficient in the safe operation of sit down propane fork-lifts, stand up high reach electric fork-lifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of all utilized material handling equipment and request additional maintenance when required.
• Perform accurate counts and locations of inventory while using a counting scale.
• Check part numbers and descriptions to ensure correct parts are pulled and shipped to customers.
• Safely load and unload trucks while maintaining an account of the merchandise received or shipped.
• Maintain ISO procedures while preparing parts for shipment to customers/vendors, including tagging, banding, boxing, assembly, and cleaning.

• Complete shop forms, data collection, job tracking cards, work orders, bill of lading, and packing slips for accurate inventory and costing information.
• Monitor boxes, pallets, and shipping supplies to maintain satisfactory levels of readiness.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Detail-oriented and capable of performing work with few errors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Works in a timely manner with minimal errors and rework required.
• Displays a positive attitude toward customers and suppliers.
• All forms and paperwork are properly completed and maintained.
• Fulfills all company standard policies and procedures with minimal deviation.
• Interprets orders, forms, prints, and documents and takes appropriate action.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs for extended periods.
• Ability to work extended shifts as needed.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse and manufacturing conditions (hot, cold, humid, and confined spaces).
• Ability to safely operate equipment and perform repetitive physical tasks.
