About the role
As a Shipping Services Associate, you will communicate effectively with customers regarding the inbound and outbound movements of their product. The position involves telephone work, electronic communication via fax and email, and computer use for processing customer orders. You will also process inbound and outbound loads at the shipping and receiving window during high-volume periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide customers with information regarding their inventory.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties.
- Maintain professional relationships with carriers and customers.
- Follow all customer requirements and prepare shipments for outbound inventory.
- Check in and out all truck drivers and assign dock doors.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out properly, including driver’s license information and seal numbers in the system.
- Fill out pallet receipts for pallet accounts and/or bill for pallets.
- Report overages, shortages, defective materials, or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Produce accurate inbound paperwork to confirm delivery of products.
- Notify and/or deliver incoming product to the end user with supporting documentation (e.g., packing slips).
- Complete daily Shipping/Receiving entries in the computer system.
- Prepare paperwork in the system and manage product to be shipped or received.
- Maintain knowledge of product location within the warehouse.
- Confirm all orders are loaded and ensure drivers review bill documentation.
- Verify drivers have all correct paperwork for the load with the correct destination.
- Always maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications.
- Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.
- Initiate action to prevent non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
- Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes, and/or quality.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels and verify their implementation.
- Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
- Participate in Safety and Educational Training.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interpret packing slips and enter correct information into the computer system.
- Acknowledge receipt of goods into the purchase order and processing database.
- Good arithmetic, reading, and typing skills.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to see, speak, and hear.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- May require occasional standing, walking, or lifting for everyday activities.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and company policies.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with others.
- Follow safety procedures at all times.
- Ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines.

Pay
$19.25 – $23.25 per hour.
Schedule
Start Time: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (overtime and weekends may vary).
