Shipping Room Operator, AM, Dairy - Dacula

About the Role

This position involves loading and unloading trailers, completing necessary paperwork, and operating various equipment including palletizers, sit-down forklifts, and clamp trucks. You will also maintain and clean equipment, contribute to continuous improvement of work processes and team skills, assist in all areas of the department as needed, and help train new associates.

Responsibilities

• Select product to be loaded
• Load and unload trailers
• Complete all necessary paperwork
• Operate palletizer, sit-down forklift, and clamp truck
• Operate, maintain, and clean equipment in the work area
• Continuously improve work processes, team skills, and technical skills
• Assist in all areas of the department when needed
• Assist with training new associates at the discretion of leadership

Requirements

• Ability to operate sit-down forklift and clamp truck
• Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds
• Ability to pull 180-200 pounds across a slick surface
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Continual bending, reaching, pulling, carrying, lifting, and walking
• Excellent safety work habits
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
• Ability to perform steady and productive work for extended periods
• Willingness to assist other team members in other areas
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Good time-management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• High level of maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment
• Ability to work in a cold environment
• Ability to learn all aspects of the cooler
• Good human relation skills (ability to work well with others and be a team member)
