Shipping Representative/ Loader

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Manifests customer orders.
• Verifies products selected for customer orders and checks off as appropriate on packing lists.
• Packs all orders neatly and correctly in box or envelope to ensure quality.
• Properly identifies hazmat product and processes hazmat shipments.
• Reports any errors in product selection or quantity to appropriate team members or areas and corrects the order as necessary before shipment.
• Loads truck with customer shipments on skids in brick wall formation.
• Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Disposes of empty boxes, packaging, and shipment materials appropriately to maintain safe and clean working conditions.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Ability to pass machine driver safety training for all required equipment. Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills. Good communication (written/verbal) skills. Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments. Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
• Experience: Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
• Physical Demands: Lift, carry or move products up to: 0-20 lb. Occasional 21-35 lb. Frequent 36-75 lb. Occasional walk on concrete floors continuously. Grip, push, pull and fine hand manipulation frequently. Twist or bend torso frequently. Handling tools frequently (Computer, Pallet Jack).
• Conditions: Continuous temperature-controlled building. May be exposed to dust occasionally. Work in a cold environment occasionally.

Compensation

• To the extent this job is performed in Sparks, Nevada, the hourly rate to be offered for this position is $19.25.
• For internal promotions, this position will be offered at an increase of $1.25 to a current employee's hourly rate.
• For lateral internal transfers, there will be no change to a current employee's hourly rate.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.
