Shipping Receiving Supervisor
Crafco, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Receiving Supervisor at our manufacturing facility in Halls, TN. This role ensures accurate and efficient handling, staging, and shipping of finished goods, as well as general logistics for receiving operations.
About the role
The Shipping Receiving Supervisor coordinates product availability with production and supply chain teams, prepares shipments in accordance with sales orders, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Arrange appropriate products for shipping as outlined in sales orders.
- Load shipments efficiently to minimize delays and overtime.
- Coordinate activities with the production department to ensure product availability aligns with carrier scheduling.
- Maintain an approved carrier base and contract carriers.
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work area and equipment, ensuring proper storage and handling of products and materials.
- Ensure proper handling, routing, and accuracy of all approved paperwork, forms, files, and reports in a timely manner.
- Complete and route Bill of Lading, UPS paperwork, and other shipping documentation accurately and promptly.
- Keep finished goods in an orderly fashion; promptly repair any damaged materials.
- Establish processes to maintain accurate inventory counts and work with the production department to correct discrepancies.
- Stage orders by verifying material type, correct weights or quantities, and shipping destination.
- Load, unload, and store materials safely and appropriately.
- Move finished goods from the QC area to the storage/shipping yard in a safe, timely, and organized manner.
- Maintain forklift cleanliness, perform daily inspections, and ensure safe operation.
- Receive, inspect, process, and document incoming shipments; verify packing slips for correct part numbers and quantities.
- Adhere to all company safety, operational, and personnel procedures and policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in logistics or shipping/receiving operations preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse setting preferred; or willingness to become an authorized forklift operator.
- Ability to interpret shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, inventory systems, and standard shipping software.
- Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems for inventory and order management is desired.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and highly organized.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, squatting, and/or lifting for long periods.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs+ unassisted.
- Willingness to work in potentially adverse conditions (loud noise, indoor/outdoor settings, rain, heat, cold).
- Must be willing to work overtime and various shifts when needed.
