Shipping & Receiving Spec
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains the quality and accuracy of the shipping and receiving function by verifying all outgoing shipments are properly packaged, identified, and accurately filled by comparing items and quantities against the purchase order specifications
- Prepares shipping tickets in the computerized system for Aflac and Communicorp commercial jobs; creates special boxes and pallets
- Inspects incoming shipments for damage and initiates damage claims as necessary; verifies physical counts on incoming shipments
- Reviews all computer generated purchase orders to ensure correct quantity of items described have been received
- Solves any problems resulting from differences between paperwork and actual stock with appropriate department
- Channels job jackets through the shipping department and encloses all shipping information for billing
- Maintains records for shipping and receiving files for UPS and Federal Express, truck lines, etc.
- Decides what shipping method would be most cost effective, and sorts through paperwork and notes to determine the number of shipping locations and quantities
- Monitors shredding equipment and ensures documents are properly shredded, baled, and disposed of in accordance with established procedures
- Performs other duties as required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $35,000 - $45,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
