About the role
Quintech Electronics & Communications, Inc. is seeking a Shipping/Receiving/Packaging Technician whose primary duties will include performing a variety of packaging, shipping, and receiving tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare items or shipments according to customer orders and supervisor instructions to ensure appropriate product is shipped on time using the appropriate shipping method, paying special attention to methods and documentation.
- Package, weigh, and document correct shipment details; maintain documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
- Set up shipments with freight forwarders and provide them with necessary export documents via email or fax.
- Communicate with international representatives regarding packages held by customs and provide needed information to facilitate release.
- Prepare power of attorney papers, consent to search documents, SU forms, invoices, certificate of origin, Chamber of Commerce certificate, and have documents stamped with the company seal and signed by management.
- Be familiar with harmonized codes and any other applicable codes.
- Prepare accurate freight quotes for customers and calculate package dimensional weight, volume, and freight classes.
- Ensure the latest version of UPS and FedEx software is installed and coordinate with the IT department; contact UPS/FedEx/OHL technical departments to resolve any software or online shipping issues.
- Maintain sufficient levels of shipping/packaging supplies.
- Route materials and supplies according to part number and/or description by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and stacking by hand or using manual material handling equipment.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages by following receiving procedures; document and report problems promptly.
- Sign for incoming deliveries, load and unload delivery trailers/trucks by hand or with manual material handling equipment as needed, and stock in appropriate locations.
- Adhere to and stay up to date on export control laws and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Work requires attention to detail and a strong math aptitude.
- Strong planning, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to read, interpret, and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Must possess basic computer skills and alpha-numeric keyboard skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Schedule
Position is a full-time, daylight position with an 8:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule, five days per week, and requires in-person attendance.
