Shipping Receiving Lead

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Overseeing the proper loading, unloading, and handling of goods and materials.
• Ability to load trucks according to loading layouts
• Ensure all loads are strapped in accordance with D.O.T. rules and regulations
• Inspect containers as necessary
• Must be able to operate power industrial equipment
• Validating the received materials and goods with the invoices to ascertain the precision of the goods delivered
• Ensuring the completion of all paperwork relating to the received goods and processing of the bills of lading
• Understand paperwork, get signed copies of bills of ladings and understand BOL’s, pick sheets and other shipping paperwork
• Ensuring the proper handling and stocking of goods in compliance with warehousing and storage requirements
• In charge of receiving supplies and materials into the Warehouse
• May assist in monitoring the warehouse records and inventory and filing reports of discrepancies in quantities and damages to the supervisor
• Communicate with fellow workers, Supervisors and Managers
• Responsible for following Plant specified job specification, task list and completion of all requirement paperwork
• Responsible for conducting him/herself in a safe manner and adhering to all required safety protocols and policies, including safe driving practices
• Required to wear PPE properly in accordance with company standards
• Keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris; this may include cleaning assigned areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by your supervisor
• Must be able to work assigned shifts, including working overtime and attending after shift meetings as needed
• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

  Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience
  • CDL is required
  • Must possess current driver’s license

    • Frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
    • The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear
    • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk and required to reach with hands and arms and stoop/crouch, bend or twist
    • The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, and/or move material and work in awkward positions, such as underneath equipment, or working around machines in operations area.

      Work Environment

      • The work environment is typical of most manufacturing environments
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually high with ear protection required as posted
