Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

Position Summary

Under general guidance of the production supervisor, this position involves loading and unloading trucks, picking orders, palletizing and shrink wrapping product, packing and labeling boxes for shipment, disassembling equipment, material cycle counting, inventory restocking, receiving and staging material, itemizing incoming material and filing purchase orders (POs).

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicle and complete all assigned deliveries efficiently and safely
  • Load, deliver, and pick up electrical equipment from vendors and customers
  • Communicate with customers, confirming delivery times, delivery addresses, and order details
  • Control and submit all delivery and pick-up paperwork to the appropriate department
  • Create/print Packing Slips, Bill of Ladings, or other Proofs of Delivery (POD)
  • Obtain signatures from customers on all PODs
  • Maintain neat, clean, and professional personal appearance
  • Clean daily and maintain vehicle appearance
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer service
  • Report all problems, accidents, and delays as they occur during the route to management
  • Pack and ship products (strapping, palletizing, crating, shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Match incoming material part numbers to internal bill of materials and report discrepancies
  • Reorder shipping supplies
  • Clean and maintain shipping/receiving work area
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment
  • Perform shipping/receiving quality control as assigned
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and report any accidents or injuries promptly to management
  • Complete other duties assigned

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience moving and unloading equipment using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, lift carts, etc.
  • Able to multitask and produce a quality, error-free work product
  • Ability to recognize problems and obtain and provide information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills to include both MS Word & Excel
  • Flexibility and work overtime as needed
