About the role
TekniPlex Healthcare is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team in Madison, WI. This position works split shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Prepares finished product to ship according to customer requirements
- Stages product
- Receives and assembles bills of landing, checks against orders, reports shortages and incomplete orders, makes changes as necessary
- Greets truck drivers and loads trucks for shipment
- Operates forklift as needed
- Receives incoming supplies and prepares receivers (written and computer), checks for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects; checks inventory levels and communicates with purchasing to ensure proper safety stock
- Utilizes the company computer program and PC software to develop, maintain and generate effective reporting systems that relate to the job function
- Maintains strong communication with supply chain team, customer service, production and truck drivers, and facilitates any necessary follow-up to ensure smooth movement of goods
- Weekly/Monthly inventory of limited supplies, including cycle counts
- Follows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years Fork Truck Experience
- Basic knowledge of truck capacities, warehouse flow and production process environment (1st in/1st out) location system knowledge preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Microsoft Suite knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete timecards and work orders
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
