About the Role

MPI Calera is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to assist with accurately and efficiently handling all incoming and outgoing materials, focusing on utilizing our MRP system, D365. This position ensures accurate inventory transactions, processes incoming and outgoing orders, and supports timely delivery of goods while adhering to company safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of team members; assist in maintaining a safe work environment by wearing appropriate PPE (fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection).
  • Prepare shipping documents, including packing slips and shipping labels, using the MRP system.
  • Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
  • Package and label products for shipment according to company specifications.
  • Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments and process shipping transactions in the MRP system.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and follow all shipping safety procedures.
  • Solve problems and adjust forms and documents due to last-minute load changes; ensure attention to detail during data entry.
  • Use the MRP system to locate, print, sort, and distribute picking lists to product assemblers.
  • Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
  • Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, damaged shipments, and inventory variances.
  • Prepare, create, and distribute paperwork related to shipping products, including picking lists, packing slips, and Bills of Lading.
  • Communicate via radio with truck drivers, supervisors, and team members to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials; verify quantities and condition.
  • Unload and unpack deliveries; process receiving transactions in the MRP system.
  • Accurately record and track incoming materials; report damaged or incorrect shipments to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area; route received materials to appropriate locations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience processing inventory transactions in ERP systems such as D365, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong computer proficiency and transactional accuracy.
  • Experience with freight coordination, receiving documentation, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Proven record of attention to detail, process discipline, and cross-functional communication.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn; ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, balance, kneel, reach, and sit as required by the role.
  • Must adhere to physical requirements and wear appropriate PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and mask).
  • Work in conditions involving heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, and fumes.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or overhead crane.
  • Possible overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
  • Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
