Shipping & Receiving Clerk
As part of the Contract Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in designing, managing, and optimizing solutions that keep goods moving efficiently. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Validate and record inbound and outbound data manually and systematically (WMS)
- Maintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipments
- May use pallet jack to move materials throughout warehouse
- Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of order data
- Duties may also include palletizing and shrink wrap
- Ensure accuracy, prepare and generate pick list, packing list, POD recovery, etc. for inbound or outbound activities
- Effectively communicate with carriers, customer, operations, and management
- Assist and support with hosting of customer and regulatory audits as required
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, inbound/outbound phone calls, use of radio, data entry, etc.
- Use MHE or other designated equipment to load goods into trailers or other transport vehicles used for distribution
- Confer with warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments
- Verify and receive product into inventory
- Add to GC Compliance and QTN spreadsheet
- Assist with scheduling and checking in truck
- Create scannable barcodes for receivers
- Create help desk tickets
- Complete and track resolution from GC Compliance and QTN log
- Run daily open STO reports and add to shared drive
- Investigate overdue and damaged shipments or shortages in shipments for customers and/or common carriers
- Ensure training compliance as per defined training matrix as applicable
- Adhere to Kuehne + Nagel’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Program policies and procedures
- Perform other job duties as needed
Requirements
- Knowledge of Windows-based order entry system
- RF Scan gun experience is helpful
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Must have good vision, as many products have very small font identifiers
- Experience with SAP or any Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience is highly desired
- Exercises initiative in following up on pending issues and orders
- Ability to effectively solve problems
- Ability to establish priorities and multitask
- Must be organized
- Fluent in English
- Overtime and weekends may be required
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended amounts of time
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
